Many properties in the US have hazardous Federal Pacific Electric (FPE) circuit breakers and panels, widely used from 1950 to 1980. Research shows these have a high failure rate, causing about 2,800 fires and at least 13 deaths. The annual losses are around $40 million. Many home inspectors miss these dangers. FPE committed fraud by selling defective Stab-Lok® products, leading to a class-action lawsuit in 2002. Independent tests revealed high failure rates in FPE breakers. If you suspect your property has these, check your breaker system. Insurance companies may cancel coverage if they find FPE systems. Contact Frank at (310) 503-4158, Viktorie at (424) 301-0075 to evaluate the breakers at your apartment building (you still need to hire a licensed electrician).
